Steve Zaat makes available a song
raising awareness of the Persecution of Bahá’ís
in Iran
“Ponder This Awhile” brings back the protest song in a bid to
draw attention to the systematic persecution of the Bahá'í Community in
the “Cradle
of the Faith”, Iran. While the persecution has been going on since
the middle 1800s the recent withholding of liberties and arrests seems
so very out of step with the generally prevailing notion that all the world’s
inhabitants have inherent rights and freedoms.

Zany Lane
Steve Zaat and Erica Lane have teamed up to form the duo Zany Lane to create
and perform music for children. Here’s the new
website, zanylane.com and info on their success.
That’s Me
In 2008 Saint John musician Steve Zaat wrote a song to console the hearts of
two parents who had lost their young son to cancer. Written for Thomas, “That’s
Me” visualizes a world seen through his eyes as he describes his release
from this world and his enduring love for those who miss him. The song then inspired
a beautiful book illustrated with jewel-toned oil paintings created by Sackville
artist Sue Rose.
The cd of the song and the book that have been produced are dedicated to Thomas
and his siblings. A third of the proceeds from the sale of the packaged book
and cd will go to the Canadian Cancer Society.
