Steve Zaat is a Singer/Songwriter from Saint John, New Brunswick. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree as Steve's father, Con Zaat, is a well known music educator and entertainer from Charlottetown, PEI. Growing up in such a musical household had a great influence on Steve. Singing in numerous choirs (one choir sang songs in the Dutch language exclusively) Steve took up the guitar as a young teenager and never looked back.

Steve started writing songs in the early 90’s but his work took a noticeable step forward after embracing the Bahá’í Faith in 1994. His new religion provided Steve with a passion he had not experienced before and continues to this day. In 1996 he released an eclectic cassette (remember those) called Joy and Pain. Featuring many great musicians and singers including drummer Dave Langeth now with Nelly Furtado, Joy and Pain had many great performances but lacked the studio polish Steve was seeking.

It would take another 11 years until Steve would produce a follow-up to that recording. In early 2005 Steve moved to Saint John, New Brunswick to take a management position with a prominent musical instrument retail chain. Steve prospered in the friendly and talented Saint John environment and soon began work on his CD project Jumpstart To Eternity. Featuring many of the area’s top players Jumpstart was an ambitious project with eighteen tracks and a spiritually infused vibe.
